Peanut Butter Gelato Strain is a rare evenly balanced hybrid strain (50% indica/50% sativa) created through crossing the classic Dosidos X Mendobreath F2 strains. With this bud, the name says it all – the flavor is nutty and earthy with a rich herbal overtone.

Corey – November 16, 2021

The crossed of DoSiDos with Gage Green Genetics’ Mendo Breath F2 (Studly Spewright) to create Peanut Butter Breath. This strain is said to have a woodsy, herbaceous flavor profile.

Yes, and maybe. These flowers are top-shelf quality cannabis. One of the better smoking crosses of Peanut Butter Breath I have tried in a while. My only complaint would be the muted nose. All things considered, if I saw it on sale for $45 out the door, I would buy it all day. However, after trying it, I would not pay $75 to have it again.

I love it when a strain name doesn’t make you work too hard to figure out the genetics, as does Peanut Butter Gelato. This name has me guessing that the strain is a cross of Peanut Butter Breath and Gelato 45, but if you believe it to be otherwise, please leave a comment on the youtube review or IG Post. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Often, the Peanut Butter Breath strain can be on the harsher side. Nonetheless, I believe that to be the nature of the strain. With that being said, I found the smoking experience of this cross to be considerably smooth.

The aroma of Peanut Butter Gelato is very subtle and muted. I prefer a much louder nose. I had to actually break open a bud and dig in to find some scents to describe. After breaking some buds up and throwing them back in the bag, I was able to get some musky, earthy, peanut butter notes complemented by delicate sweet floral notes.

So was it worth the money, and would I repurchase ?

The buds are small and dense, with not too much squish to them. Notwithstanding, they have stayed fresh for the past three months in the bag. The flower’s appearance leans more toward the PBB genetics, being a lighter green hue, with lots of orange hairs and a healthy layer of resinous trichome crystals.

The high is heavy. Peanut Butter Breath, in general, will make you relaxed and mellow, but with this cross of Gelato, it is super strong. Peanut Butter Breath by the Backpack Boyz and 5 Points would be suitable for pain relief and to fight insomnia.

As I continue the tour de backpack, I have made my way to the strain Peanut Butter Gelato. I believe the Peanut Butter and Jelly strains I had in the past are a similar cross but have slightly louder terps.

The Aroma of Peanut Butter Gelato

Much like the appearance, the inhale was more Peanut Butter Breath dominant. The inhale was a flavor profile full of rich nutty notes complemented by delicate musky earthiness. In the exhale, when looking hard enough, you could find the Gelato fighting to make an appearance. However, much of the flavors of the inhale continued adding subtle sweet notes.

I purchased my bag of Peanut Butter Gelato by the Backpack Boyz and 5 Points from their dispensary in Los Angeles. Nevertheless, you can find Backpack Boyz flowers all over nowadays in dispensaries in both SoCal and NorCal and from street vendors in New York.
