Tangerade seeds

Coriander is a bright, energising candle to burn during the daytime.

Charles Tanqueray developed the iconic recipe for Tanqueray gin almost 200 years ago, using only four botanicals. These shared philosophies of beauty in simplicity and striving for perfection became the foundation of our cooperation.

Angelica is a centring candle that is perfect to light while focussing on a task.

Coriander Seed

Angelica Root, Coriander Seed, Juniper Berry, and Liquorice Root.

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) is an instantly recognisable scent that gives Tanqueray its citrusy character. It can be a polarising scent; in perfuming, it has to be balanced carefully or it tends towards soapiness. We created a fragrance that gives our Russian-grown Coriander depth with a warm woody base, an exciting pepper-nuanced heartnote and an unexpectedly refreshing lemony topnote that sings out strong.

And so our project was born. We proposed to deconstruct Charles Tanqueray’s original Tanqueray London Dry Gin formula by creating a series of four candles that each focus on one of the four botanicals in Tanqueray:

Angelica Root (Archangelica officinalis) is deep and earthy – like smelling a handful of the rich Belgian soil where it’s grown. In Tanqueray, Angelica the key to the roundness of the gin, grounding it and giving it depth of flavour. We wanted a modern candle that references the traditional useages of Angelica Root as a healing plant, so we paired Angelica with a creamy wood basenote, beautiful bright floral notes in the heartnote, and just a hint of warm citrus in the topnote.

The Candle Scents

This drink smells good in summer and sunshine and delights us with its great freshness. It offers a nice alternative to other more classic gins thanks to its pungent and fruity flavour.

Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla is a unique gin made from orange essences and aromatic plants. Inspired by the recipes of Charles Tanqueray and the ripe oranges growing on the sunny trees of the Seville region, Flor de Sevilla offers a perfect balance between bitterness and sweetness, thanks in particular to the complexity of Tanqueray London Dry gin.

To enjoy your Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla at its best, we suggest that you accompany it with a quality tonic and orange peel that you have already squeezed over your gin.
